The wind was gale force, it was cold and getting dark, I had five layers of clothing on and still couldn’t get warm … I actually almost bailed … almost downgraded myself from assist guide for the runners to just doing food table support … the sketchy voices in my head telling me I’m too unfit, too old, too slow, not equipped to run over a mountain … all night … in the dark! And did I mention the wind?!? 😱🥶
